Access to Services
The program helps limited English speaker navigate the complex world of governmental agencies by providing assistance in completing forms, offering translation/interpretation services, and referrals as needed. The program aims to increase the problem solving skills of Latinos facing consumer and employment related problems.


Low Income Tax Clinic
Tax seminar at CARECEN Under this program, CARECEN operates a low-income tax clinic that aims to increase the number of Latino immigrants who understand and comply with their obligations under the US tax code and who are educated consumers of tax preparation services.


Victims of Crime Assistance
Through this program CARECEN informs Latinos who have been victims of crime (such as domestic violence, violent crimes or sexual assault) about their rights, and provides direct services to crime victims, while serving as a liaison with the DC Metropolitan Police Department Office of Victims Services.


"Know Your Rights" Education
Throughout the year, CARECEN organizes "Know Your Rights" community workshops and follow up activities aimed at educating the community about civil rights violations such as discrimination in housing, employment, public services, police abuse, labor laws and workers' rights.
